Wowee the tech company had three new mini projectors at CES 2009, each had been given an excellent name:The Cinemin Swivel, The Cinemin Stick and the generic Cinemin Station. We were impressed with their use of the near spelling of cinnamon and the projectors were mini as well! The cinemin station (pico micro projector) is an alarmclock sized but fully packed gadget known as a “media Center”. It features an ipod dock and projects content from a docked ipod onto a nearby wall. The cinemin swivel is a cheaper, smaller micro projector which is the size of a snickers.

We liked the fact the swivel can swivel (90degrees so as you can play from ceiling) and its 3 hour battery life, the speaker is perhaps a little quite to be used as the only source of sound. The Cinemin Stick (the best named wowee micro projectr) had a great selling point – it takes normal sd card’s and also has internal memory – surely one of the most important points if you are to use these gadgets as a media hub.

All round legends of micro projectors the Cinemin range from wowee were very impressive in quality – both tiny in size (definitely lighter than most mobiles) and bright / clear in graphical quality, they deliver very well for such early products to the market. This gives us great hope for the quality of micro projectors in a years time!
