After our last post describing what we call a handheld projector, we happened across the following video:

This is not really inline with our previous description, its a nice take on the uses of a hand held projector, using it combined with 3d mapping and a virtual pen to create a completely 3d virtual workspace around the user, where the projector is held in the hand and acts as a kind of flashlight to the 3d zones.

I think the real life practical use of this is limited but its a nice development using the hand held projector, it shows the technology being more adapted, as these uni kids get hold of them and incorporate them more and more into their thesis/dissertation technology pieces it should help development.
