MBP200 – Samsung Micro Projector Available Now!

Samsung have now officially released the Samsung MBP 200 Micro Projector!!!! This pretty little box came out this week but the stats don’t turn us on as much as the promotional marketing (see below) or the design of this gadget. This Samsung micro projector boasts a HGVA resolution output (thats 480×320 pixels) – not that pretty really is it? Not when the 3m mpro 110 can handle VGA (640×480 pixels) and has been out for ages.

Not to squash samsung’s beautiful release though – this micro projector does look hot and is a nice gadget to hold – it has a good 2.2 inch lcd and has the regular (but very useful) 3.5mm stereo headphone jack and accepts microSD (making it a micro sd projector btw.>!)  It has a good support range including codecs for MP3, WMA, OGG, AAC, WAV, DivX, Xvid, WMV9 Simple Profile, MPEG-2, and MPEG-4 so that covers most of your bases for content? In respects to capacity of micro sd cards it can handle a tastey 16gb card – so space wont be a problem with samsungs newest handheld gadget.

So whats the fuss with this micro projector? It has been around for ages you say? well yes it was announced back at CES – hence while the resolution is low its still a viable option as a micro projector but samsung have now officially released an expected RRP and availability date! Where as a lot of micro projectors we have seen at technology shows don’t make it to the western world as buyable products, you will see the samsung mbp 200 micro projector in the uk and other select european countries from mid may. This little samsung handheld projector is expected to retail at around the £400 mark – not a huge figure. We look forward to doing a formal review within the coming months!
