A patent was spotted by one of our editorial writers, mainly because it seems to use a micro projector in its creation. The following patent diagram highlights the use of a micro projector to project onto the front of a car, the small projector looks to be placed above the rear view mirror facing the front of the car. This innovative use of the technology looks great and especially in night races would work great to provide animations/visual advertising on the race cars as they go round a track.

Furthermore if this technology were to make it to road cars, where they had micro projectors’ built into them then people could watch films, video or project all sorts of things onto the bonnets of their cars. It might entail a different type of paint or a development of another kind allowing the bonnet to easily accept the projected image but we do love the idea. Lets hope this is one patent that makes it to real life use!
