Acer Micro Projector – Acer K10 Pico Projector

While the Acer K10 is not what we would usually call a hand held micro projector here @ microprojector5.co.uk, it does (at least in this image) manage to just about sneak into the category. Despite this biggest of the little categorisation the acer k10 pico projector does offer some pretty nice figures. High ANSI lumens @ 2700 and weight at a moderate 550grams (definately not in the league’s of the other handheld pico’s you will usually find on this site.) But with reviews claiming things such as “the k10 is reportedly one of the smallest and lightest projectors on the market” it got our attention.

First of all it is an acer product, from acer laptops we know that they offer a pretty good balance between quality technology and price / longevity. For example I have an acer laptop that has lasted me 4 years and counting (granted its not the brightest item in my technology crown but it still runs fine.) But Acer pico’ projectors? For us the verdict is still out – the micro projector’s seem to offer a fairly good bang for buck and size, but they are yet to wow us, considering they are 5 times heavier than some of the other micro projectors about. What we would like to see is a true acer pico projector, something that will fit in my average size trouser pocket.

Whether or not acer are intending to push their projector’s to such a small size is yet to be seen, but I would certainly say the current reviews of the K10 are mostly assuming that this is the smallest of the small projectors, forgetting (perhaps because they are yet to prove high resolution) the handheld of the projectors. Ultimately only time will tell whether the first is swapped for the latter, but smaller has got to be better, at least with projectors?
