The Dell M 109S Microprojector does look pretty, you cant deny it looks a lot slicker in shiny black than its grey 3M and other rivals (the optima pico is nice looking though) but its actual size is just above hand held, making it just within the realms of the title micro-projector. Our recent test drew our attention to its resolution, despite being only marginly bigger than the handheld offerings its resolution is much improved – offering 858 x 600 pixel display the Dell M109S pico projector does outperform a lot of its littler brothers, perhaps offweighed against its inability to fit in ones pocket.

Like we said about the other microprojectors currently on the market, we would still recommend holding out for the second generation of these units – no doubt dell well launch a really good second gen pico within a year or so – but if you cant wait that long, and you dont mind the fact you cant fit it in your trouser pocket (unless you have big pockets) then the DellM109S is a fair choice, itll probably last you well for the next year or so till a 2nd or 3rd gen projector hits the uk stores. Look out for an in depth review on this dell semi-microprojector soon.

  1. [...] though so when comparing it to other small projectors we should be thinking along the lines of the Dell M109s or the newer Samsung SPP400B (which actually has the same resolution but a 1000:1 contrast [...]
