When it comes to the stock market I am not much more than a newbie, but is their value in display technology shares? I don’t think you can doubt the pico projector market now – with MicroVision (MVIS) slowly mopping up the first generation of pico projector’s sales it could be prudent to invest in display-tech in 2010. If you check out MVIS Stock over the last year (google finance MVIS) you can see that if you brought at the lows of low in March you would have been paying 0.77, cashing in more recently would have meant you could have feasibly pulled out with 7 times the value you put in. There are no doubt lots of companies with which this applies, and even veteran traders rarely manage a perfect in/out but this highlights the growth factor in the last year alone and not only that we are only part of the way towards mass market sales of micro projectors. It doesnt stop at MVIS, there will no doubt be lots of companies profitting from the development of pico projectors, they may not be floated yet but they are definately worth watching. Bigger names such as 3M (google finance 3M) are also selling a lot of pico projectors but their success is mixed with a huge range of other technologies they produce.
