Vodafone brings Microvision ShowWX to Spain, UK Next?
It may have slipped by a few peoples radar’s but on the 1st of December Vodafone announced that they have taken on the MicroVision ShowWX in Spain. This is the second service provider to strike a deal with Microvision (first Uniden and Australia) and without a doubt means good things for both Microvision Stock (MVIS will rise!) as well as the company and the show wx as a new gadget phenominon. This sort of mass market rollout of a pico projector is great news for the technology as the more sales the more likely research and development budgets for pico-projector technology improvement will go up!
Vodafone intend to sell the microVision ShowWX to “business and professional customers” and will first introduce it in Spain via their “points program” as well as bundled with the Nokia Mini N97 Smartphone. Prices are stated to start at 289 Euro for the bundle, a price which will surely mean a great uptake by customers. The capacity of the Nokia N97 to send video and media to the show-wx is another great step towards mass market pico projectors, you can see why Vodafone are bundling the two together.

The Wonderful Nokia N97
The real question though, other than “when can we get our hands on one” is will a uk provider such as O2 or Orange join the game? Could MicroVision Inc seal a huge part of the to-be lucrative market of micro projector’s by doing worldwide deals with mobile phone resellers? The business development of the showwx hints at a huge audience for micro projectors, a global market – but who will get the first major hold on the market? The MicroVision ShowWX is indeed the first Laser powered pico, could MVIS also become the first well known producer of the latest gadget craze – The Pico Projector?
We will avidly watch MicroVisions development and look forward to reviewing it as soon as we can get our hands on one!

Pllllllease microvision sell these in the uk
Maybe you should ask Microvision directly to get one for reviewing purposes.
Having reviewed the Microvision Pico technology at 2 separate trade shows in the USA over the past year, this product needs no promotion and will be consumed voraciously here in Europe, with this roll-out.
@ Axo – Its only a matter of time before the ShowWX hits the uk
@ Helio – We are hoping to get a showWX in the near future to review for you
@Peter Finch – yeah theres been a few reviews out, would like to do one for here anyway, we had a bit of lag when we were starting the site but now we are keen to review as much as possible – I agree the showWX will be incredibly well received….Could anyone guess what the next big pico will be though? I wouldn’t be surprised if we see a good jump in resolution from a non laser option
