HP Pico Projector Laptop | Embedded Pico Laptop
Big rumours swept a few sites over the last few days that before the summer is out HP are going to launch a pico projector enabled laptop, its only rumours as far as we can check so far but what a rumour! The idea has been floating around for a while, combining the tiny embedded pico-projector’s with the systems that power them, idea’s of a netbook with no screen just a small projector, fuller systems the size of a regular keyboard with the pc built into it, projecting across desks etc. But if the rumours are correct HP are stepping up the idea beyond the speculative talking, could we have a fully feldged pico projector laptop by the end of 2010?

As with Microvision (MVIS) being the first to bring us the laser based pico projector its likely the first big brand to release a laptop-with-pico-embedded will get suitable amounts of prop’s for being quick off the mark. Energy saving, space saving and progressive technologically, the combination of the most commonly used platform for computing in a mobile way with the hugely growing market of microprojector’s will be an interesting one to watch.
As with all these rumours this could come to nothing but definately we cant wait to see who brings the first pico-laptop to market, we are sure there is a market for them but it might just take another 6-12 months for the micro-projector to grow enough in the world of electronic-consumers eyes before there is a big enough market for this sort of thing. If you have space for a 30 inch projection though, why not use it?
