ADPP450 – Adapt 100 Lumen Digital TV powered Micro Projector?
Its coming up to our month away here at micro projector 5 – but when we get back, if the rumours come to fruition, adapt may bring out a new micro projector boasting 100 Lumens and a DVB-T Tuner! Frankly it just goes to show how fast the pico/micro projector development is moving – so much they are now going to replace tv’s? What do you think?

Far from the pico projectors we have grown to know require input, whether its photographs on an SD card or a mobile phone jacked into it or a pc/laptop VGA output going through a fat cable into a thin device, this micro projector has a built in digital tv receiver! Probably aimed at a different market to most micro projectors – or perhaps at stealing the people that are sitting on the post between buying and not until the resolution, feature-list and brightness go up – either way if this microprojector makes it to market within the next month like they claim then it might just mean a steal for Adapt.
Adapt intend to launch the ADPP450 with a very nice resolution of 800×600, the capacity to project 150 inch screens and a 100 lumen lamp. A contrast ratio of 200:1 wouldn’t be the end of the world if it was at 150 inch and a 4 watt speaker is one of the loudest we have seen in micro projectors. It is a micro projector though so when comparing it to other small projectors we should be thinking along the lines of the Dell M109s or the newer Samsung SPP400B (which actually has the same resolution but a 1000:1 contrast ratio!)
The usual inputs include AV, VGA, USB and SD cards and supposedly the battery is external. We look forward to more specific concrete specs on this new microprojector from ADAPT but with a catchy name like ADPP450 (these tech manufacturers always come up with the best names) it could go either way. DVB-T is a nice new addition to the scene – but is the micro projector not aimed at a younger audience who will more and more be watching on demand not on tv? Its to be seen!
