Acer K11 DLP Micro Projector | Nice additions to the Acer Pico Projector

There’s been a few posts about the Acer K11 pico projector already and first up I would say its more a micro projector than a pico projector but secondly Damn its nice looking! So what really do we have here? Its a small form factor DLP projector from the fairly cheap but good value company Acer. Great. Just what we need… Well in fact its got some nice progressive numbers against the previous microprojector from acer.

A good resolution at 858 x 600 is the first good spec feature – this res is a step ahead of what we have been seeing with standard 640×480 pico’s – Widescreen is good and I want to see more and more of these higher resolution picos’ – its not any more than the last pico from them but its still quite good. Double as bright though at 200 lumens and twice the contrast ratio @ 2000:1 – now this is where the figures are upped – and both these are great improvements on the last acer pico.

A HDMI socket is a sweet addition, matched in usefulness by a usb port and a SDHC reader (Can read both SD and SDHC cards – great for those big capacity SD Cards.) More and more pico’s will feature HDMI, acting as a bridge between high quality media sources and projection – its also a good sign that perhaps these pico-projector’s will soon be sporting Full HD resolutions (before that there was no real need for hdmi.)

So all in all we would probably call this a refresh on the acer pico projector rather than a new new model, but the Acer K11 is certainly a little smaller in size while surpassing its previous records in a few specifications and also gaining HDMI and SDHC compatibility which is a bonus – A good micro projector and probably worth the value price it will get (when it eventually makes it to uk stores!)
