Microvision ShowWX for sale in the USA

Thats right folks as of 12 noon US time today the Microvision Show WX has finally actually gone on sale – coming in a limited edition pack and a standard one it should be interesting to see what the consumer thinks. Personally I think they may be taking the mick a bit with the pricing / limited edition option, although perhaps thats the world we live in, what with collectors editions of games being huge etc at this point.

Microsoft Skinput uses pico projectors for input

Yesterday I read about this and it really struck a note with me – Not only has this new microsoft powered pico projector technology got an awesome name “Skinput” but it also shows us a glimpse at possibly what tomorrow will hold in terms of integration of pico-projector’s into our everyday lives. Gone will be the annoying little screens of mobiles, touch screens as wide as a few fingers and capacitive screens. Enter the pico projectors that sense input, laser pico’s that watch what you press and a whole new way of owning electronic devices like mobile phones.

Acer K11 DLP Micro Projector | Nice additions to the Acer Pico Projector

There’s been a few posts about the Acer K11 pico projector already and first up I would say its more a micro projector than a pico projector but secondly Damn its nice looking! So what really do we have here? Its a small form factor DLP projector from the fairly cheap but good value company Acer. Great. Just what we need… Well in fact its got some nice progressive numbers against the previous microprojector from acer.

A good resolution at 858 x 600 is the first good spec feature – this res is a step ahead of what we have been seeing with standard 640×480 pico’s – Widescreen is good and I want to see more and more of these higher resolution picos’ – its not any more than the last pico from them but its still quite good. Double as bright though at 200 lumens and twice the contrast ratio @ 2000:1 – now this is where the figures are upped – and both these are great improvements on the last acer pico.

ADPP450 – Adapt 100 Lumen Digital TV powered Micro Projector?

Its coming up to our month away here at micro projector 5 – but when we get back, if the rumours come to fruition, adapt may bring out a new micro projector boasting 100 Lumens and a DVB-T Tuner! Frankly it just goes to show how fast the pico/micro projector development is moving – so much they are now going to replace tv’s? What do you think?

The technology company (TXN) unveiled its latest digital light processor chip – smaller and slimmer and targetted solely at being embedded in mobile phones. Their latest DLP pico chip will enable near HD resolutions from mobile phone handsets!
